I will bring my unique experience to your school to participate in and
develop a great English program. As a teacher, I believe one of our
biggest challenges is reaching every student and to help them achieve
to the best of their individual abilities. Now more than ever,
students are bombarded with so many distractions and external problems
such as television, the internet, friends and sometimes even family.
I have learned that the only way to be a successful teacher is to
truly care about your students success and to create interesting
lessons to keep them involved. I have always used humor and
exciting activities to get students involved in my lessons. I have
found that Korean students are much more competitive than American
students, and I plan to use that to my advantage. While managing a
classroom, I think it is important to be fair and treat all students
equally. Additionally, it is important to make sure that all students
understand the rules of my classroom and the consequences of breaking
them. I have had success in allowing students to help in creating the
classroom rules and consequences. By using this approach, the
students are more likely to follow the rules that they helped create.
I have also worked with students with severe behavior problems and
have been successful in helping them improve their grades, social
skills and behavior.
